Drug Free Communities
The Drug Free Communities coalition was formed in 2010 under the name of Partners for Prevention of Erie County (PPEC) and is comprised of nearly 300 members of the community from diverse backgrounds and areas of expertise. Activities are guided by the Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) provied by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the Erie County Community Health Improvement Plan.
Reduce the number of Erie County youth engaged in substance use through community collaboration, planning, and the implementation of proven and effective prevention strategies.
Evidence-based prevention strategies are used to address social determinants of health, mental health, social and emotional learning, and other contributing factors for substance use in youth.
